NoMo is located in the East Central of the upper peninsula of Charleston. It gets its name from being located on the north end of the peninsula on Morrison Drive. The city is still in a growing stage, so also are the possibilities and the opportunities. The newly constructed student housing on Morrison Drive, called 930 NoMo makes the name really stick. There are some eateries or restaurants that have made their names in the area long before NoMo start trending such as Tattooed Moose and Santi’s but other eateries have arrived setting new standards for everybody to follow.
The following are 5 restaurants carving out a reputation for their selves and making the neighborhood a name for itself.
Lewis BBQ, 464 North Nassau Street
It opened sometime last year with a lot pomp and pageantry with its Texas-style cut-to-order brisket leaving the immediate customers a lot to desire. John Lewis must have spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect BBQ magic that always leaves the customers coming back for more. There are different offerings just in case you are not in the mood for a line, you can place an order through a special window outside for a BBQ sandwich. Cocktails and beers could also be served if you want as they also could be enjoyed on the backyard patio.
Edmund’s Oast, 1081 Morrison Drive
If you want to dine and do it right anytime, Edmund’s Oast is the place to go. Though, if you are like me and you will like to sample first, you can go during happy hour for stellar experience in form of killer food and drink deals. Or you have your family and friends visiting from another state, Edmund’s Oast is the place to go to show them the culinary prowess of this developing city area. Their brunch is one of the best around.
Goat. Sheep. Cow. 804 Meeting Street #102
Goat. Sheep. Cow landed in NoMo last year in a much bigger space. Before now it earned a reputation as a cheese monger and cozy deli with a popular sandwich-of-the-day in the south of Broad spot. Are you looking for a fun place to catch up with friends with wine, prosciutto, and some conversation? Look no further than Goat.Sheep.Cow
